New England equaled their longest winning run from the Tom Brady era as they defeated AFC East rivals the Jets 27-14 in the NFL

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson shone brightly with three TDs as the New England squad claimed an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since iconic QB Brady's final season with the franchise in the 2019 season

QB Maye accumulated 281 yards and a touchdown, completing 25 passes from 34 throws

The win increases the New England's advantage at the summit of the AFC East as they advanced to nine wins and two defeats, with the Jets bottom after slipping to a 2-8 mark

The visitors had gone in front at Gillette Stadium with QB Justin Fields running in a short rushing score to cap the Jets' first possession

But the Patriots responded in the second period as the rookie ran in two seven-yard TDs before the running back caught a pass from Maye at the back of the endzone in the middle of the third quarter to extend the lead to 21 to 7

"It was a key occasion for him stepping up, and it's been fantastic for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He wants to be excellent."

Justin Fields threw to John Metchie late in the third quarter to reduce the lead for the visitors but Andy Borregales booted a two field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side wrapped up the win
